I have to agree with you. It was the industrial might of the north that made the difference. I think we can find that is the common thread of victory through out warfare for the last 3000 years. I don't want to mention any of the wars in the recent past, but we can see the results of industrial superiority in all of them.
Great military minds can do a lot, but they can't overcome industrial might if the conflict lasts very long.
