Many posters are looking for information on activities during said war. Some having to do with ancestors. It is only natural to take it personal when the original point was to ask a question, not spark a debate. I've not heard anyone here promote the political ideas or actions as something they wish to see a return to. It is our history. It belongs to us. We have ancestors who shed blood for a reason, not all the same reason. We have a 'unique' past that has been bashed, incorrectly written of and is besmirched by those with no connection to the South. To defend ones heritage is to tell the truth, no matter how unPC by todays standards, and see that it is passed on. We have to be in defensive mode because we come under fire on a daily basis. It's a learned instinct and we're getting better at it.
