I have no problem discussing different viewpoints. I do however, have a distaste for those who wish to make only negative remarks when we have, on occasion, made postiive toward their 'side'.
The problem is that many times the discussion leads to tension because there are constant derogatory things said toward 'our' side of the argument. We know things happened and we also know we cannot change them. It is also important for this nation to teach the true history and to keep the knowledge of that war in the lessons of our young. We make no apology for what our ancestors did. We accept there may be things in their lives that were not in today's 'PC' or even humanitarian realm. Everyone should understand that this is history. These are our roots. We cherish the fact that they dared. They were in the ranks of their own ancestors. They tried to make a change.

One of the main reasons we get into a long thread is that many times, we (the Rebels) have found information that is not what we were taught in school and we like to share that. :)
