I'm not sure reparations for slavery is a CW topic. I also want us to be very careful about posting either of the current candidate's positions on this issue or any other issue that is not directly related to the Civil War.

Now if a candidate makes a comment on a CW park or memorial or makes a statement regarding the display of the Confederate flag (which I believe both candidates oppose) or references a Civil War figure in a speech then these are appropriate for this message board.

We cannot drift into a discussion on the current political contest and the candidates positions, which are not related to the Civil War.
