Believe it or not I agree with you all to the extent that you love true history. But my greater point is that as long as "Political Agendas" do persist, no matter who propagates them, Northerners or southerners, decendants of exslaves or masters, The War is not really over. I my humble opinion reparations are just as much a part of Civil War history as Reconstruction and Sharecropping. Both of which were the result of "political agendas". When is the southerners even going to be able to pay their "debt to society". As long as that debt is still declared to be unsettled the war goes on.
