Recently I stumbled across another message board, the topic being a current issue before Congress. Rolling white Southerners, racists and Republicans into the same bag, every post directed yet another blow at them. Occasionally one individual would stoke the flames by responding just as they expected. It wasn't pretty. If these people were representative of our fellow Americans, I would have spent my last dime on guns and ammo.
Considering the current anti-Southern worldview 'out there', Kevin's responses seem moderate and reasonable. I'd like to think that he's representative of our contemporaries born outside the old Confederacy. If so, maybe there's hope for all of us. Had I been raised and educated in Ohio or Wisconsin (shudder!), my responses might be quite similar to his.
There are gaps in his knowledge of some subjects, but the same is certainly true of me. Responding to posts on these message boards has prompted me to read and review a great deal more than I would have without them. I'm much more inclined to respond to Kevin or someone with whom I disagree than otherwise.
With regard to regulations on guns and ammo, maybe a waiting period before you can post responses on this board would help. Can you do that?
