I wouldn't worry about it, George. None of the former Confederates were ever tried for treason, much less convicted. After holding Jefferson Davis for two years, it dawned on someone that he would never be convicted, but would instead be made into a hero. And Grant said if any attempt was made to try General Lee, he (Grant) would resign his commission as General of the Army. That pretty well stopped that idea. Stan
