I need to read this again but thanks for the info. Interesting stuff. My Paternal GGUncle was also a Quartermaster at the arsenals in Georgia for the CSA at the same time FC Humphrey's was. Small world here in the Southland. Even stranger is my Daddy was a purchasing agent for the Navy here at NAS. I can't add 2+2. Guess the number gene skipped a generation or so.

I wish that would tell me what those roofing nails are on the end of a couple of bullets that I just obtained. Well, I know they weren't roofing nails but that's what they look like. The person who gave them to me said one was US and the other Confederate. Now, I know I'm no expert but dang, there's no way he can know that. He dug em up around Spanish Fort more than 100 years after the war.
