Don't overlook that 93-98% of all who went to those conventions were (surprise) slave owners, who are voting their pocket books, which again is about money! They do mention other things as reasons for leaving the Union. In Texas it was the lack of the U.S. Government to protect the citizens for Indian raids and raids from Mexico. Sound like something in todays newspapers. Still true. The rest of the country doesn't care if some rancher down on the Rio Grand gets killed for burning drugs left on his land by people across the river. But if the DEA found it they could take his land, his home, and his freedoms with a 20 year jail sentence. I have friends that work out in that area and have for a number of years now. There is at least 3 families he knows of that are missing/ been killed/or their homes and everything else burned out. MONEY, think how many people across the border have died over drugs and their sale. Want some dope?

We kill all the time over money. Hitler wanted western Russia for living space. That would cause the German state to be an economic power house in Europe. It is one of the only real food producing area of Russia and by having it, given time, would have given the world that 1000 year Reich. Again Money. And everyone knows that Hitler got into power by putting people to work (money) when the rest of the world was in depression and by the large payments that had to be made by Germany at the end of WWI to the victors (again money). He got into power by money and went to war for money. But that is a different war.

After slavery importation was banned by the U.S. Congress, with the vote of Southern Congressmen, New York stayed in the trade, until 1880, delivering the last load of human cargo to Brazil in that year, flying the U.S. Flag. Money, how many die in all those ships and for why.....money. Why do people do the same over drugs, well we covered that.

The basic crook has been known to shoot someone over 18 bucks. In fact there have been a number of stores robbed by people who murdered the store clerk for that or lesser amounts. How many husbands or wives have been killed for the insurance (money).

We vote our pocket book all the time. Bill Clinton's note in his headquarters said it: It is the Economy. (I didn't vote for him.)

And there are a lot of things worth more then just a dollar in the world, even in 1860. In homes throughout the south were furnishings that would cost plenty. And the mark of refinement was maybe a set of new table and chairs in the dinning room. Farm Equipment such as Plows, household goods, music and entertainment items could cost up to $500 or more. And that was cheaper then a slave.

The Mayor of New York in 1860, joking stated that maybe the city should leave the Union as well since they do most of their business with the South. BUSINESS....money.

The Bible says that money is the root of all evil. I have the tendency to believe it.

Your not thinking, and your making yourself look...well lets just say, your not thinking. Your just clinging to your view without any thoughts on the facts that are around you daily. Someday your going to realize that what I say is true...and when you do it will be, because you just did something because of money. It maybe as stupid as driving across town to get some item on sale for a dollar less then on this side of town. You will spend $2.00 in gas for a buck savings. And your wife will ask you to do it. Oh, by the way you write and everything else, I would say your not married right now so you wouldn't know. But that, too, is about money and hidden things (sex). Someday when you are older you'll understand social structure much more clearly and you will not question, you'll understand. AND just as an added note, I have been studying this conflict and causes since 1980. I have read something like 1200 books on the subject over the years, and then the rest of the history books that I have read just add to the spice of life.

And do you know who started all of this; Pope Urban II, in 1095, called for the freeing of the Holy land and Europe got out of its complacency, answer his call and hasn't looked back. And they did it for.....land/power, which is money. (It's all connected.)
