It's entirely unnecessary to bow out. This particular message board serves as a forum for people who have differing opinions about the war and related issues. It's good to engage in debate with folks who bring different sets of facts and ideas, so your participation is encouraged.

With reference to the English Civil War, you may have read Kevin Phillips 600+ page book which starts there and moves through the American Civil War. If not, you would probably enjoy it. It's one of the more thorough studies of each group involved in the English Civil War, the American Revolution and the American Civil War. Phillips draws a direct line from Old to New England in each of these conflicts.
