Of course I am familiar with your beautiful web pages dedicated to the tenth, who were in Granbury's Brigade along with the 24th.

I have long known of the deaths at St. Louis and burials at Jefferson Barracks, as two of my grandfather's first cousins, half-brothers James McCarley and David Henry Parker, died one day apart and are buried there. I have had their compiled service records for at least 30 years.

However, it is only in the last few years that I have understood the implications of their being left behind there when the others were sent on to Camp Butler. Of the members of Company B of the 24th who were left at St. Louis, seven died at St. Louis General Hospital and are buried at Jefferson Barracks.

Your careful research and extensive website are appreciated and are much to be admired.
