I am glad that the photo of C.B.'s was of assistance in adding a piece of the puzzle to his legacy. I have attached the image to this post, and you might be able to see how I mistook 'C.B.' for 'C.G.'; thanks for the correction. Since Karen fwd'd you the image, I uploaded here for the benefit of the other forum members as well.

I am sure that Karen will agree, it is a very rewarding feeling to be of help in getting information to the family of these patriots. I am not a descendant of any of the men of this Texas Brigade, but in helping you descendants, it gives me a great feeling of kinship with your families. Via the 10th Texas Infantry Website, I have made contact with 360 descendants for almost a third of the regiment; those generous decendants have shared family history ... images ... letters ... reminiscences ... diaries ... etc. I feel that you, the descendants are the last great untapped resource for regimental research. Descendants provide personal information that one would not find in the history books or military service records.

Thanks for your offer of assistance at Ark Post, I may just take you up on it one day (would that also extend to the Arkansas Archives at Little Rock?).
