The Terry's Texas Ranger site is awesome, and some time consuming effort has gone into it. Thank you so much! Here's where I need help: I have been trying to determine if the William Flemming/Fleming in the 34th Texas Cavalry unit (documented/NARA)is the same as the Wm Fleming in Terry's TR. It is interesting, because the 34th Texas Cavalry, aka Second Partisan Rangers, aka Alexander's Regiment (ie, Alexander Almerine) was evidently dismounted and merged with the 15th Texas Infantry after it's first couple of battles, and a connection between them and TTR is not apparent; however, William's obituary states that he "went to Texas to enlist under his old friend Thomas Harrison, and was in Waller's famous unit". I believe Harrison was eventually a commander of Terry's after the death of Terry, (and Lubbock, who died before receiving his commission?). The obituary also states that he was at Iuka, Corinth, Yellow Bayou,Pleasant Hill, and Black River Bridge (aka Big Black?). William preceded his wife in death (Collinsville, OK, home of their daughter Carol (Flemming) Poole, by six years (interred Neosho, MO IOOF Cemetery), so it is likely she would have been familiar with his civil war services, and probably have been the one who gave them the information. Nevertheless, I can't confirm or disprove his participation with Terry's. Any suggestions anyone? Many thanks, Carolyn in Washington
