RE: William Henry Flemming/Fleming (b1845 Ray County, MO;died Tulsa, OK at daughter's house 1924; sent home for burial at Neosho IOOF Cemetery, Newton County, MO).

Hello fellow researchers, thanks so much for the responses. William's middle name is Henry, that's why the other William Fleming's name didn't compute, although I have experienced other instances where someone just plain got the middle initial wrong. I sent for Wm's file from NARA. There were only two documents supplied me, which they said was the "complete file". One is a copy of the "List" of commissioned officers elected, and those relieved, at the re-organization of Colonel Alexander's Regiment, June 27, 1862, in accordance with the provisions of an Act of Congress, approved April 16, 1862 (Note at bottom shows it was organized April 17, 1862 and re-organized June 27, 1862)(one day's difference), and G.O. No.___ of date June 26, 1862. List dated Hdqtrs, Dept Ind. Ter., Fort McCulloch, June 30, 1862." "34 Cav. Texas" at the top, and his name is shown as "W.H. Flemming, Capt, Co. K, Alexander's Regiment". Under remarks, it shows "C.B. Titus elected in place of W.H. Flemming". Both of the archival documents received from NARA have used the spelling with two "m's", although I have other documents which only use the one "m", and my grandfather Claude Fleming only used the one. The second document copy received shows him a captain in the same company, with all three "aka"s shown at the top of it. One "card" number is listed. That number is 50398724. Can I obtain other records through that number? I have another ancestor who has several numbers listed. What do they represent? One thing I just found last night, which I thought a great coincidence: Wm's first wife (my great grandmother),Emma Mary Hamlin has been a brick wall for me. She died young, when her boys were approx. 3 & 5 yrs old or thereabouts. My mother's handwritten notes say she is buried in either Thorp Springs or Sweetwater, Texas, and I saw something that showed Fort McCulloch being near "Sweetwater Creek". Perhaps there is a connection. I have also tried to find a military service record for William on Handbook of Texas Online and other sites, without success. I will be very grateful for any help you can offer...
