Re: 2nd Texas Infantry Co F- Battle of Corinth

Hello,
I would like to request any information available concerning Jackson Shelton McMahan of Galveston. He was supposedly a lieutenant in Co. F, 2nd Texas in Aug 1862. The records are confusing from there, as one states he was promoted as Captain of Co. G Aug 24th. But another record has him promoted to Captain of Company F Oct 7, 1862. He was supposedly wounded, was absent on sick leave on Oct 30 but died at Jackson either the 5th or the 7th of Dec 1862. He was a son of my great great grandfather.
Thanks
Wes
