Re: 2nd Texas Infantry Co F- Battle of Corinth

You might read Peter Cozzen's book, The Darkest Days of the War, The Battles of Iuka and Corinth. It is not easy to find specifics, but he describes the 2nd on the 3rd and 4th. I do not think the 2nd was involved on the 5th at Hatchie Bridge.

As to how long it took for infection, gang green, etc to kill some one. Some died after the war was over. If they died on the battle field at Corinth, They were buried there or at Iuka, a few days later. Prisoners were paroled at Iuka over the next month and some were sent to Saint Louis to be traded. Some like Col. Mabry of the 3rd Tx Cav stayed in prison for a year because he would not sign the parole that said he was a member of the rebellious Southern Army. He did not sign until it said Confederate Army.

Cozzens does describe the battle for Robinette and it's cost.
