Do you have any information about Company G and its role in Robinette and during the escape of the Confederate forces from entrapment following Cornith? Did Company G fight along side F at Cornith and in the aftermath? Was it common to promote an individual and assign him to another company?
The death of Jackson S. McMahan in Jackson so long after Cornith surprises me. Was it common for the wounded to die so long after the battle? Do you know whether there was another engagement in Jackson in Dec of 1862? Are there likely to be any death/burial records in Jackson?
