Thanks Vicki! I didn't think to look at Footnote! I'll compare this to the references to him in the ORs.

And, yes, the newspapers and particularly the Standard are an invaluable resource on the Indian Territory, particularly those letters by "a soldier in the 29th". Is it known for certainty that the letters from "a soldier in the 29th" were written by DeMorse or is that speculation?
