I don't know about DeMorse. There's a new book coming out this spring, though, that has a chapter on him. The book is _Knights of the Quill: Confederate Correspondents and their Civil War Reporting_, by Patricia G. McNeely, Debra Reddin Van Tuyll, and Henry H. Schulte (Purdue University Press). The chapter is "Charles DeMorse: Reporting from the Indian Territories."
