When I looked for the Allisons in Wells' Battalion, I found:

This sort of illustrates why I ask for vital data on each soldier. Many researchers only study officers, but in order to study Indian Territory and the North and West Frontier of Texas, we have to study the activities of each soldier. Yes, this entails contacting descendants of each soldier.
