The source you cited for your Point 1 ORs1 v22/1(s#32) p.457 has nothing to do with Ft Belknap. It is the report of a Yank after Honey Springs. Is it an error? I already have and have used the Gen Douglas letter, but it says nothing directly about the employment of Co A. Actually, it is not important to me and there is no reason I need to say anything at all but I would like to be accurate if I do.
Point 2- The people I am interested in left Ft Belknap in May 1864,so there were other CSA after March. Again not an important point to me but I should be accurate if I mention it.
You may help me with another, bigger, problem. I'm going back to your two volumes to check. These people I am interested in were somewhere in north Tex or the IT or maybe MO from roughly March 1862 to May/June 1863 but where, I have no clue. This is after they left CO under much duress and with few resources. Their CMSR's give no clue either. From one of your posts I saw that you had rosters of the militia units in the region in your book which is a possibility. That's my next step. They enlisted at Arbuckle and Camp Bulware (or Biluxie or whatever, see my post under that heading) I've looked at all the unit rosters I could identify, usually using the Library of Congress site. It is possible they, at least some of them were half breeds (Cherokee). Do you have any great suggestions?
