To all who responded to this post, sorry I dropped out on you fellows. Working long hours.

Hayes in relation to your post on Selma, by reading some of the letters in Cornell's site, I gathered that the 24th was not at Selma. I may not have understood the intent of the letter as I was scanning them in a hurry. I "think" that there was mention of Forrest getting shot in the arm and a saber wound to the head. I was also under the impression the 24th had already surrendered. Hudnall also spoke of 200 Texans deserting in mass. This led me to believe that the entire unit was folding. I will be researching Forrest and the 24th Miss. Do you know anyone who would like to have what I find?
