Do you have access to a copy of the Booklet
"The Yankee Invasion of Wets Alabama"
If the 24th MS was with Gen. Wirt Adams, they fought in the battle of Romulus, on April 6th, against Croxton's raiders.
Gen. Adams had been left at West Point MS, to protect the railroads, by Gen. Forrest as he moved East toward Selma.
After the battle of Romulus, Gen Adams retreated to Columbus, MS and was reassigned to Pickensville to guard the railroad, where I assume he remained until the end of the War. Thus I would assume the 24th MS was in West AL during April of 1865.
