Steve --

Same person, both records. This man appears on the 1860 census as a policeman living in Mobile. He's on the 1880 census in Wilcox County.

In correspondence with the state department of pensions, the probate claerk of Wilcox County wrote on Nov 30, 1900, that Mr Thomas Knight had died on the arly part of the previous year. His widow Rebecca applied for pension support in his name.

The Winston County reference for Knight on the 1907 census is quite curious.
