John H. Parker, Dawson's 19th

Searching for information on John H. Parker. According to estate papers filed by his wife, Lucetta E. Parker, he died 8/26/1862 in Pine Bluff, AR under the command of C. L. Dawson. He is not listed under Dawson's 19th Infantry, I am assuming he died before their first muster. Have heard that he was hanged for horse stealing, but am unsure if this information is correct. It's as though he never existed.
