Re: John H. Parker, Dawson's 19th

I'm not sure that I understand.

I received a very bad copy of the estate papers dated May 20, 186? wherein the widow had apparently given the courts an inventory of the estate. The courts approved her use of the monies in the estate of $300 to bury John. The copy of the papers is extremely bad, so I'm guessing at some of the words.

The second document, dated February 4, 1864, is an estate settlement where John's brother William C. Parker is petitioning the courts for control of the estate. This was granted. The papers give the date of death as 8/28/1862 in Pine Bluff, AR where John was a Private under the command of Col. C. L. Dawson's Regiment at the time of his death. His widow has resigned her rights to administer the estate.

Does this help?
