Interesting, the American Civil War Research Database indicate that "He was Killed on 6/16/1863 at Vicksburg, MS"

They source the Roster of Confederate Soldiers of Georgia 1861-1865

G. W. Blackstock is not recorded on the old UDC record of burials nor on Gary Webster's update of 1998 "Confederate Roll of Honor, Known Confederate Dead, Vicksburg Campaign, January 1862-1863. Nor is he on the NPS Battlefield Park Website @ http://www.nps.gov/archive/vick/city_cem/chill_b.htm

However, we see a tombstone which was placed around 1980.
