The 57th Georgia Infantry was transfered out of Cumming's Brigade after it was exchanged in September 1863 to the Military District of Georgia, Department of South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida (December 1863-May 1864) then to Mercer's Brigade, Walker's Division, 1st Corps, Army of Tennessee (May-July 1864), then Mercer's-Smith's Brigade, Cleburne's Division, 1st Corps, Army of Tennessee (July 1864-April 1865).
