Re: 56th GA Inf Reg, J. E. Blackstock

A great book. Thanks for listing it. I am also reading "Saddle Bag and Spinning Wheel, being the Civil War Letters of George W. Peddy, M.D. and his wife Kate F. Peddy." He was surgeon and doctor for the 56th Georgia regiment. Dr. Peddy also signed the letter recommending J.E. Blackstock be allowed to resign due to disability, possibly the culmination of a wound he carried since 1st Manassas. Dr. Peddy apparently did not write disability resignation letters frequently and took the matter very seriously.
