Thanks for your explanation -- makes perfect sense as you explained the differences between the 1st and 2nd Georgia Militia Divisions. In reference to the officers listed for each county, it would be interesting to locate them on the census and elsewhere and try to determine why these men weren't in regular Confederate service.

I had asked you about an updated publication. You mentioned the difficulities involved, but added, "this would clear some things up for people interested in the subject." It certainly should.

Last night we watched an outdoor showing of the movie, "October Sky." Of course it's based on the early life of Homer Hickam, and his interest in rockets and exploring outer space.

Afterwards we decided that most important things in life are accomplished despite obsticles, failures and discouragement. Another way of seeing things may be, projects that aren't hard to complete are really not worth doing. It's the ones that really wear you out that mean something.
