I found this infor. in a bio.of Major DeWitt C. Lipe who was son of Oliver W. Lipe and Katherine Gunter a full blood Cherokee.One of six children
(Oliver Lips- Bio is in Leaders and leading men H.S O'Beirne pg 211)
He was in the war at Wilson creek,and the skimish his son John Gunter Lipe was killed and Lt Col.Thomas Fox Taylor near fort Gibson in 1862.

(Major) DeWitt C Lipe was born in Feb 17, 1840 within six miles of Tahlequah,with Nancy born
1842 died in 1866. John Gunter born 1844, was killed in a skirmish near fort Gibson in 1862.
Jennie born in 1846 married P.M. Blackstone, of Muskogee,Indian Territory and died March 1894.
Clark C born in 1847 died in 1901. Oliver died died in Infancy 1854.Fanny born in 1853 died at age sixteen years.
This was Jennie's brothers/sisters-mother/father they were in the General Mercantile Est.business/farming.
