Fascinating.

The band of 46 traveling southerners mainly traveled west from Camden County and hit Dallas County in the northeast corner heading northwest along the Little Niangua River into Hickory County where they then followed the Pomme de Terre north into Benton County. I really don't know how many men they killed. Remember that they didn't personally know their victims, and they killed men they THOUGHT were northern sympathizers and who admitted to serving in Union forces. So, if you can establish that some of those men named in the old Dallas County history lived in north Dallas County in what is now named Miller, Sherman, and Lincoln Townships, it increases the chances that what I described was their cause of death and they died about 15 to 21 May 1865.
