Here is tidbit tidbit from the Cooper Co History

2 CONT From Boonville, MO, Public Library
2 CONT Jeremiah Good and father, Jacob Good were killed between Big Lick and Prairie
2 CONT Home shortly after the Civil War. A small party of four or five men were
2 CONT approaching the house. When the Goods started from the barn to the house they
2 CONT were immediately shot down. It is stated that a small boy of about fifteen, a
2 CONT Good, was in the house at the time, and shot one of the men. It seems that John
2 CONT Good, a brother of Jeremiah Good, during the war had shot a man at a
2 CONT blacksmith's shop at Big Lick and it was supposed that these men were seeking
2 CONT John Good when they approached the Good house. John Good, however, was not
2 CONT here at the time when his father and brother were killed.

It just dawned on me that Big Lick was known primarily as Gooch(e)'s Mill during the war. Any idea what action that John Good would have been involved with at Gooch's Mill? Both John Good and Jeremiah Good were in Capt Eaton's Co I of the 9th Cav. MSM as well as time early in the (in)famous 52nd EMM detachment with Capt Leonard. David Good was the aforementioned 15 year old.
