Yes, "Big Lick" was also Gooch's Mill. I looked up Big Lick in Arthur Paul Moser's "A Directory of Towns, Villages, and Hamlets," online at http://thelibrary.org/lochist/moser.html who said Big Lick was a place 12 miles east of Boonville that had a store and blacksmith shop and a salt lick nearby in the early days of Cooper County, and this little place was also named Milton and Gooch's Mill at different times.
I had seen the Cooper County history's mention about the Good farm killings.
This is still a mystery about who may have been in the raiding party that killed the two Goods, but I don't want to conjecture who they were.
