I am really curious what happened to my Aunt Huldie and her husband Isaac MARTIN. They had five young sons in 1860.
1870 finds the oldest, William Thomas, with grandparents PENN, the youngest, Sam, with a nearby neighbor. Huldie and the middle three are missing.
I found two of the three in Texas in 1880 and later and they settled and had families. I don't know anything about them 1865-1880.
As you know, a number of folks in SW Missouri, which included some of my relatives, were "GTT", gone to Texas, or Colorado, or somewhere else westward after the war.
Only a very few returned when the constitution was straightened out. The two Martin brothers stayed in Texas.
Thanks again for your time Bruce, and for all your helpful posts over the years.
