Mr. Bierce, Mr. Jefferson and anybody else who states war is what we need is blinded to reality. I am convinced people need God, not war, in their lives.
I believe they made those statements with a little sarcasm. Bierce was not blind to the horros of war. If you know anything about him, you know he spent his share of time on the battlefield. Many people have been in your shoes and had a son almost old enough to go to war. My folks were a couple. It's something that will always be. Now I would be ready to saddle up again for the US...as for Israel that means nomore to me than any place else. I think the last time I looked in the Bible we instructed to be peacemaker, of course the Bible also says the Lord our god is a lord of war. Doyle and I were mostly talking tongue-in-cheek. Thing is Jamie, a lot of kids 13 were involved in that war you love so much to study...the ACW, WBTS, whatever you want to call it...it wasn't a Walter Scott novel.
