Re: Let's tell the whole story

Gunny, I didn't say I voted for him. Quite often, we were already set up on the lawn when JFK came in on Chopper One. He'd walk by us, looking like death warmed over. An hour later, he was "bright eyed and bushy tailed" for the cameras. The wonders of medical science.

You are right about his PT Boat exploits. After all, the Japanese destroyer ran him down, probably not even knowing he was there. But, he WAS there, along with his crew.

You'll remember, in the movie "They Were Expendable", about the real PT hero Adm. Bulkley (then Commander), that Kennedy wasn't mentioned. No connections in Hollywood at the time, I guess. LOL

I got my PT 109 tie pin from Bobby. I still have it. Now, Teddy is the real black sheep of the family. If one of us had acted as he did at Chappaquidick, we'd probably still be in jail. I'm convinced Mary Jo Kopechne was alive when he panicked and left her in the car while he covered his stern. But, enough. Stan
