If I may ...the future of the United States
In Response To: Re: Now you can mark mine ()

What I have observed is this. The United States and its current Constitution can no longer properly govern itself. It is weak in heart and confused in leadership. Its current responsibilities around the world and its current condition and size was never foreseen or intended by our founding fathers. Our government was designed to be flexible (i.e. the omission of perpetual) but it has become fixed by the actions first executed by Lincoln's Republicans and their changes to a more powerful central government and weaker states and the two party system. Over the years we have lost our liberties from the loss of proper representation in Congress which was artificially fixed in size in the early twentieth century. We are now less represented, there are tens of thousands of more people added to the constituency of each representative than he can actually take care of. Instead of delegating its powers back to the states, back to the local governments, the Federal government would rather retain its power and represent us less as our population grows.

Its being suggested now, that the United States divide into districts of states to increase government efficiency and representation by certain peoples, retaining the Federal Government to handle foreign affairs and inter-district government. The day may have to come where our nation will have to change its government and its constitution to grow with the country and the world. I hope and pray if this change comes, like with the change from the Articles of Confederation, this change should retain the best of our Constitution and bring about better government.
