Re: If I may ...the future of the United States

David, I have a personal theory about this subject; one which I will stick with until someone explains to me why it is wrong.Long story short - it is this.

Unchecked immigration has resulted in former minorities becoming or about to become majorities (right now - mainly in western and southwestern states.

That in turn makes it more difficult to pass legislation in city, county, and state governments without watering down legislation to the point that it meets no one's needs. That creates decision-making gridlock and non-action at all levels of government; gridlock we now see in CA, AZ, TX and, most certainly, in WDC.

Result, our cities, counties and state's problems not only go unsolved, but further degenerate into real problems, made more complex by the added burden of additional legislation that solves nothing and adds more layers of bureaucracy to implement such legislation.

Compound this effect with ever less effective public education over the last forty years and the result is far more complex problems and far less competent elected officials to solve them. That in turn introduces into government at all levels far more consultants and private enterprise with no available funds to pay for such outside consultation.

Result, government effectiveness goes down, government cost goes up, socio-political problems increase in complexity and scope to the point that no one can solve them
