Yes, I remember when Atlanta was just another Southern city too. I remember when nobody came to visit Southern cities for vacations, it was not done. Now many Southern cities are tourist distinations. Most were very seedy, some still are. But interstate highways, malls, theaters, factories, airports, etc., are common across the South. I remember living in Simpson County, Mississippi, and how all the county roads were gravel, now a gravel road is hard to find. I remember many homes had outdoor facilities, food gardens, and live stock.
