I'm sorry, but my own experience and that which I've just passed through with my daughter at a major Texas university does not agree with your claims. I have to ask others on this site, how many of you have told your kids "Just agree with the professor and get the grade!" Professors in the real world do express and grade based on their views and opinions. Far too many of us, know what happens after thorough research, when we reach the wrong conclusion or one at variance with the teacher or professors.

I wish my family and I would have only had teachers and professors like the ones you describe. Unfortunately, from high school through college, my daughter's teachers and professors have made extreme political statements, insulting remarks about government leaders and policy and openly advocated political support of liberal candidates. I wouldn't have liked it if conservatives brought this into the classroom, but either there were no conservatives at my daughter's university (at least out of the closet) or conservatives cannot make such remarks.

Sam, I really appreciate the ideals you espouse and I hope and believe you practice them, because you say you do, but a universal representation that this is the way it is in most college classrooms is unacceptable to me. You're asking me not to believe my lyin' eyes.
