Redirect that question, what if I proved you wrong? Just say the incident at Fort Pillow. Just as an example one college professor (Forrest High Issue)stated that Forrest murdered "nearly all" of the black soldiers BEFORE they surrendered. First that is usually when you kill your enemy. Second not the numbers do not total up to be "nearly all."
I wrote a letter to him questioning him on these points. he has yet to respond. That being the case I can only believe that the paper quoted him correctly.
Educators who make statements like this give the rest a bad name.
By posting this example I am not implying I want to go into the Fort Pillow issue.
