Knight may have served in the Vicksburg cappaign, but he was not captured at Vicksburg. By his cards--

Earliest card dated dated may of 1862. Sept and Oct. he was detailed as provost guard. November of 62 AWOL "lost in the retreat from Abbeville" January and Febuary of 63, in arrest. June To October of 63 AWOl. Nov. & Dec. 63 AWOL. An undated card shows he was paid $50.00 bounty for enlisting for 3 years.

This is a summary of his CSR, no oath no indication he was captured and paroled. I was not able to locate any Union records. If anyone could provide a lead for that I would appreciate it.
