Bushart, John B.: Pvt./3 Sgt./2 Sgt.; enlisted 6/2/61 at Jackson, TN; admitted to 1st Mississippi CSA Hospital, Jackson, MS 3/21/62 and returned to duty 3/25/62; on 9/30/62—1/1/63 Muster Roll listed as present as 3 Sgt.; on March/April & May/June 1864 Muster Rolls listed as present, with Govt. horse.
Born circa 1837 in Henry County, TN; died 1887 in Fulton County, KY; son of Jacob & Elizabeth Henry (Yow) Bushart; husband of Rachel S. (Cayce) & Ellen Tennessee (Kindred) Bushart; 1860 Fult. Co., KY, Census: bp. TN, age 22, laborer.

Born February 24, 1838 in Henry County, TN; died between 1890 and 1900 in Fulton County, KY; son of Caleb B. & Evalina (Gaines) Bushart; husband of Martha Matilda (Jones) Bushart; 1860 Fult. Co., KY, Census: bp. TN, age 23, farm labor.

Bushart, Robert Newton: Pvt.; enlisted 9/10/61 at Columbus, KY; admitted to 1st Mississippi CSA Hospital, Jackson, MS 3/21/62 with pneumonia and returned to duty March 1862; on Descriptive Pay List at Forest Station, MS 8/7/63 giving born Hickman County, age 22, KY, 6’1”, eyes blue, hair dark, complexion light, occupation farmer, and received $88 pay; on March/April 1864 Muster Roll listed as present, with Govt. horse; on May/June 1864 Muster Roll listed as absent, with Govt. horse, WIA and sent to Hospital 6/10/64.
Born March 2, 1840 in Hickman County, KY; died September 10, 1876 in Hickman County, KY; buried Wesley Cemetery, Hickman County, KY; son of Jacob & Elizabeth Henry (Yow) Bushart; husband of Mary Jane (Hardin) Bushart; 1860 Hick. Co., KY, Census: bp. KY, age 20, farm hand.

Loring; received $160 pay 6/27/63; received $180 pay 7/28/63; received $240 pay 8/7/63; received $160 pay 10/30/63; at Canton, MS, I desire leave of absence for 30 days to visit a friend in Sumter County, AL, at the expiration of which time I will rejoin my command wherever it may be—at Camp 3 KY near Canton, MS 12/9/63 I certify that he has been absent about 40 days on detached service, that none have absented themselves from my company since publication of General Orders No. 14 and that two company officers will be left with the company in his absence—approved; received $160 pay 12/22/63; WIA, slightly in the arm, at Tishomingo Creek, MS 6/10-11/64; on May/June 1864 Muster Roll listed as absent, WIA at Brice’s Cross Roads and now at Hospital; Medical Certificate, Medical Examining Board, Lauderdale, MS 6/30/64 we have carefully examined him, a resident of KY, and find him unable to perform the duties of a soldier in the field because of gunshot wound of left arm, flesh, received at Tishomingo Creek, MS, we further declare the disability to be indefinite and therefore recommend his leave of absence for 30 days to go to Cookesville??, MS—approved.
