Of my three E. Tennessee ggf's one Pvt Andrew Jackson Camp served the CSA in the 63rd Tennessee Infantry until Appomattox. Napoleon Hale served in the 1st Volunteer Cavalry USA mustered out 14 June 1865 at Nashville and Pvt William A G Dean conscripted into the 61st Tennessee Mounted Infantry CSA made PoW at Big Black River, Mississippi. He took the oath at Camp Morton,Indiana enlisted into the 8th Tennessee Cavalry USA and returned to Tennessee and engaged the 61st on several occasions. Hale opposed Camp at Mossey Creek and throughout Longstreet's Knoxville Campaign. Dean opposed Camp at Ft. Sanders in Knoxville.
Distant kin include the Crittenden brothers of Kentucky, the McIntosh brothers of Georgia, and of course JEB Stuart and his father-in-law P StG Cooke general officers on opposing sides.
