Since Gen Forrest's troops were basically Mounted Infantry, I doubt that a cavalry manual would have of much benefit. I'm sure at times Cavalry Tatics did come into play. According to Gen Forrest himself, " I saw him make a mistake and took advanage of it". I don't think thats in a manual.
