Today, I came up a bust checking out the Athens Post which I had thought for sure would have recorded this units organization. No joy. The Knoxville papers were unreadably.
I was at a loss as to who their mustering officer was, it finally came to me, it was their Colonel James Ross Howard. Thus, I figured, if I followed his path,
it might lead me to where Company H mustered in, that is Camp Lowry.
I now lean on Knoxville. See history below.
I've asked my four Knoxville resident friends for help.
Oh yes, I have worked with Betty Broyles for a number of years, she being the area resident historical Doyenne, who has helped me immensely.
