I'll check Oates' book tonight. I believe Oates goes into some detail about what mounted units crossed "the river" and when. Sifakis has the 14th being "assigned" to Ector's Brigade , Walker's Division, from June 1863 to September 1863. I'll check the order of battle at Chickamauga and see where the 14th shows up. I'm sure you're correct, the 14th would not have been with Walker's "Texas Division ", the 14th would have been too far east to be with Walker's Texas Division. Craig
