No , you were correct. I misspoke ; I said Walker's Texas Division too quickly . It was Walker's Division alright , but not Walker's Texas Division. I just saw the name "Walker" and knew it was Texans and jumped to the conclusion it was Walker's Greyhounds , without stopping to realize the geography factor! I don't ever want to put out "bum scoop" ( Navy talk for incorrect information) in trying to answer a question . It keeps us all sharp !!
As far as the 14th Texas Cavalry crossing the river; it must have been after they were dismounted at Little Rock in March/April 1862 and before the end of the Corinth Campaign (April /June 1862). I still don't know why they were dismounted and sent east , but I'll look tonight.
