Re: Mounted Volunteers?
In Response To: Re: Mounted Volunteers? ()

Jeff,

You have found the same experience I did when I first started "chasing" my Confederate ancestors on the web . For years, I thought I had only one ancestor that served in the CSA Army. I'm up to 12 now , counting my family and my wife's family. In fact , I can't find any family male between the ages of 15 and 50 that did not serve in some military capacity during the war. Also, once I started "chasing" down my Irish relatives , I find that they served in the Union Irish Brigade and might very well have faced off against my Alabama relatives ( GGGrandfather and two brothers were in the 6th Alabama Infantry) at the sunken road ( bloody lane) at Sharpsburg ( Antietam ) . Strange war; but then they're all strange aren't they. Good Hunting , Craig

P.S. Once again, thanks for the kind words. You are most welcome. I'm glad I could help.
